Forgiveness is a key component of the teaching of Jesus, who spoke in the sternest terms about what happens when we do not forgive (Mat. 18:22-35). Paul spoke clearly in Eph. 4:32 that we are to forgive as freely as God in Christ has forgiven us.
In our practice of healing & deliverance, almost everyone who comes to us for help has had seriously troubled relationships, usually involving what can most generously be called partial or incomplete forgiveness. This state is the source of many disorders of spirit, soul and body.
In order to be truly free, it is best to go carefully through one’s relationships with family, friends and church/ministry networks, asking the Lord to reveal areas where we have held onto hurt, offence or anger. Also take careful note of any relationships where we have distanced ourselves from or hardened ourselves against another person due to hurts, misunderstandings or other troubles.
These situations have produced serious effects in our lives, even if we are unaware of them. It would be a good idea to visit our blog/page post in from September 22, 2019 for a good outline and prayer for these situations. You will probably notice a change in yourself afterwards.
