Spiritual and lifestyle factors affect how well we respond and stay free after deliverance. It is not a ‘one and done’ type of situation.
A deliverance session is very important, but it is only a start.
Deliverance is a process that combines spiritual disciplines, spiritual warfare, pastoral care and casting out of any demonsthat may be present. We view deliverance / inner healing / wholeness
and wellness all as important parts of God’s best for our life in Him. The following traits correlate with better outcomes, and the reverse is also true:
Willingness to fight the enemy and resist temptation
Willingness to change anything and pay any price for freedom
Strict obedience to the teachings of Christ and the voice of the Holy Spirit
Taking responsibility for one’s spiritual health and freedom
Willingness to clean house and cut ties to sin
Determination to live a healthy lifestyle – emotionally, spiritually,
along with diet, exercise, sleep
Taking responsibility for one’s own freedom
Vigilance about words, habits, thoughts, etc.
Being in fellowship with others, and accountable to those who care.
